Summer is dwindling, but there is still time to enjoy the gorgeous weather.
This week, residents at the Vinton facility enjoyed a trip to “Celebration Park” along Vinton’s Cedar River. New History boards were recently placed under one the Park’s pavilions. The residents enjoyed learning and reminiscing about Benton County, Vinton, and the Cedar River.
Davenport Residents have been enjoying the last days of summer around their facility. Whether they’ve been helping with summer harvests, or just enjoying the warm breeze, nothing beats the outdoors!
The Iowa State Fair is in full swing and residents at the Vinton Lutheran Home have been enjoying some fun fair activities this week. Residents participated in competitions that are actually held at the Iowa State Fair including spouse calling and fastest corn shucker! Dining services Director, Justin Ealy, also whipped up some brand new 2016 fair foods for the residents to sample!!
The summer weather has been amazing, though humid at times. Residents at both the Vinton and Davenport facilities have been enjoying activities outside…..and inside if it’s just too humid!!
The Vinton residents enjoyed their annual ice cream social this week on a perfect sunny, Sunday!! Residents had a blast with their family, friends, and the staff as they were entertained all afternoon!
The weather was hot & humid at Davenport this week so the residents enjoyed some indoor activities including a fun parachute & ball game.
