December is right around the corner and residents at the Davenport and Vinton Lutheran Homes are getting excited for Christmas.  The residents and staff have been busy decorating the Lutheran Home campuses and boy do they look great! Bring on the most wonderful time of the year!!

It’s the week of Thanksgiving and the Lutheran Home Communities have so much to be thankful for.  The Davenport residents are especially thankful for the awesome staff members who work to keep them happy, strong, and active–like these amazing therapy ladies!!therapy-3therapyThe Vinton residents are also thankful for great staff members.  Especially those who are keep them content and well fed–like Justin Ealy (Dining Services Director)

November 16th Blog Post

  This fall has been abnormally warm with long lasting vibrant color!  The Davenport Lutheran Home campus has been especially beautiful this autumn!!berries leaves red-leaves

Speaking of colors…the Vinton Lutheran Home was honored to have the Vinton American Legion present the flag during our Veteran’s Day Program. Each of our Veterans residing at VLH were recognized this past Friday.  What an honor it is to be able to serve those who served our country

November 9th Blog Post

We were very excited this week to honor one of our Lutheran Home residents at the Vinton facility.  Bob Baughman was rewarded the “Quilt of Valor” for his dedication and years of service in the military.  A veteran must be nominated to receive this award, and it was a great honor to celebrate this special occasion with Bob.dsc_9299 dsc_9301

November 2nd Blog Post

Staff and residents at the Lutheran Home Communities had an awesome final week of October.  The Vinton Residents celebrated Halloween with A Halloween Ball, A costume parade presented by our local elementary school students, and many trick-or-treaters!  Who says Halloween is just for kids!?

October 26th Blog Post

Halloween is quickly approaching and the Lutheran Home residents have many fun activities coming up! Our staff and residents have been preparing and decorating for all the Halloween fun to come!

Vinton Residents decorated trick or treat bags this week.  We will fill these bags with candy later to be passed out to the trick-or-treaters!

October 19th Blog Post

October has been unseasonably warm thus far and Lutheran Home residents have been taking full advantage of it! This week Vinton residents enjoyed pumpkin painting outdoors while watching the autumn leaves fall from the trees.

October 12th Blog Post

The weather is definitely getting cooler, and residents at the Lutheran Home Communities have mixed feelings about it.  Some of our residents welcome the crisp fall air, while others are already looking forward to next summer!

 

Some of the final trips of the year are taken in October, before the snow and ice come.  Pictured below are some of the Vinton Assisted Living Tenants enjoying a hearty autumn meal in the Amish Country of Hazleton.

September 28th Blog Post

The Davenport and Vinton Lutheran Home Management Teams were able to come together this week at Camp Io-Dis-Eca.  A day away from the facilities for fellowship, brainstorming, teamwork, and planning made for a pleasant day out!!

Our Assisted Living Tenants enjoyed “Staying Connected” during National Assisted Living Week.  Each day last week was themed to the “Staying Connected” title.
