“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” ~Matthew 25:40
Home Health Testimonial
Dorothy Paulsen- Home Health Patient
“The Vinton Lutheran Home Health has truly been a God send, especially during the winter months and cold weather. My nurse comes once a week to check on me and my home health aide comes 2 times a week. They help me with my medications, help me shower and even help with housekeeping. I’m very blessed to have them in my life. They really do a great job!
Independent Town Home Testimonial
Mark Timmer– Town Home Tenant
“I love it here! The layout of my town home is awesome! It’s plenty big for me and there’s room for my kids to come and stay. I also love the location. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. I can’t see living anywhere else. The only way I’d leave is if I had to go to the Lutheran Home Assisted Living or the Nursing Home. I just couldn’t ask for too much more!”
Assisted Living Testimonial
June Salerno- Assisted Living Tenant
“Staff here go above and beyond to make all of us comfortable. When we move in we bring our own furniture and are allowed to decorate the apartment however we want. This makes the transition easier, as it still feels like home. There is so much togetherness, and we all feel like family. There are many ‘extras’ that are offered to us. From daily activities, shopping trips, and spiritual guidance there is always something to do. Coming from upstate New York, I know most care facilities aren’t what they say they are. I don’t know where else I could go to get the same type of care that I do here. I’m closer to my immediate family and I feel like I have gained more family here at the Lutheran Home.”
Nursing Facility Testimonial
Shirale Hanson -Daughter of Darlene Struve (Previous Lutheran Home Resident)
The Vinton Lutheran Home is an exemplary nursing home and skilled care facility. My mom entered the facility to receive skilled care. Before beginning her stay, we met with the administrative team to discuss mom’s needs and her home environment preferences. The administrators were very professional and made it a priority to make sure mom’s experience would be like living in her own home. During her stay at the facility, her room was bright with a big window, and we were allowed to put up bird feeders outside her window. The room was well kept and cleaned daily. The food at the Lutheran Home was very good. Each day mom received a menu with a variety of foods to choose from for every meal. Whenever she wanted a snack between meals, the kitchen staff was always accommodating. The dining room was also clean and inviting with linen tablecloths and flowers on each table. The nurses, certified nurses’ aides, and certified medication aides were professional and extremely kind and attentive to mom’s needs. They all genuinely cared about mom and treated her like she was their own loved one. The entire staff was also very open to answering our questions whenever we asked about mom’s health and/or type of care she was receiving. We had scheduled family care goal meetings with the head administrator, social worker, head of nursing and head therapist so they could communicate with us about mom’s progress and set goals for her continued services. When mom’s health became terminal, the Lutheran Home’s administrative team provided us with the first available private room and moved in a hide-a-bed and recliner so we (my father, brother and I) could spend the days and nights with mom. During that time the nurses, certified nurses’ aides, and certified medication aides were even more attentive to mom’s needs and were exceedingly gentle and loving with her. They also asked daily what they could do to make our time with mom more comfortable. We were quite grateful to the entire Lutheran Home staff for making this difficult time in our lives the best that it could be under the circumstances. With that being said, I would highly recommend the Vinton Lutheran Home for anyone looking for a nursing home or skilled nursing facility for their loved one!
Memory Care Testimonials
Kris Meier– Daughter of Previous Memory Care Resident, Ruby Davidson
“The facility was very well taken care of and the staff did a wonderful job with all of the residents. Everyone was so helpful and willing to do anything for you. I drug my feet about putting my mom in a nursing home, as she had previously lived with me, but this was one of the best decisions I’d ever made. It was a huge weight off my shoulders to know that my mother was so well taken care of. I loved coming to the Lutheran Home and seeing my mother thrive!”
