It may be cold outdoors, but that hasn’t stopped the staff and residents of the Lutheran Home Communities from having a great time indoors! As said by Hugh Downs, “A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.” So even if Mother Nature wants to be grumpy this week, our Lutheran Home families choose to be HAPPY!!

Winter weather is finally upon us! After a mild December, January has seemed to catch us all off guard! The Lutheran Home communities want to remind our residents, staff, and visitors of the importance of being careful on the Lutheran Home Campuses. Please take your time, go slow, and pay attention to your surroundings this winter. Stay safe and warm everyone!

Twenty nineteen is now well underway and many people have set goals for betterment this year. The Lutheran Home Communities pray that each of you always continues to seek improvement but we also want to remind you of the importance of asking God for help as your reach for your goals. At our Lutheran Homes in Davenport and Vinton we ask God daily to guide our mission and ministry so that we can enhance the lives of each elderly individual we serve. In the coming year, we will continue to ask for God’s guidance in providing the best “Quality Christian Care and Service” that we can, while always seeking to improve the homes and lives of our residents. As we continue to thrive and grow, we ask for your prayers for the Lutheran Home communities as well. May God’s richest blessings be with you all this year, and always!

Davenport residents decided to have a “noon year’s eve party,” since many didn’t think they could stay awake until midnight. Staff and residents welcomed the new year at 12:00pm instead of 12:00am and a wonderful time was had by all!!

Residents of the Davenport and Vinton Lutheran Homes enjoyed celebrating the Christmas season this week in a variety of ways!
In Davenport the staff and residents celebrated together with a “Reindeer Party”. Santa paid the residents a visit and delivered a personalized gift to each one!
In Vinton, Residents participated in a Christmas Concert. Visitors were invited to attend as the residents sang Christmas Carols and read Christmas poems about the birth of Jesus.
